For the last two years Alminco has been involved in the development of key technology and equipment for underground coal mining industry - a reliable, fully encapsulated self drilling rock bolt.
Alminco's Emerald Service Centre has just completed its first year at our new bigger and better premises in Hawkins Place Emerald. A growing hire and service business for all Alminco products - including pumps and the Scorpion mobile drill rigs - have added to sales of Alminco Legends such as Gopher and Cub borer.
Alminco offers chemical plant equipment manufactured with high quality Vinyl Ester, Isophthalic or Epoxy resin systems to suit specific applications. Available in square or round sections, tapered, transitional and elliptical, any FRP product can be fabricated using advanced pattern and mould making techniques. Standard tank mandrel sizes include:
1300mm, 1500mm, 1700mm, 2000mm, 2500mm, 2750mm, 3000mm and 3750mm diameter
Non standard tank sizes are also available on request.
Three state of the art computer controlled filament winding machines can produce FRP equipment from 10mm to 4000mm diameter, each layer engineered and applied from 0 to 90 degrees.
All design and manufacture complies with AS2634-1983 and BS4994.
FRP sewage pump stations, known for outperforming their concrete cousins, are a composite specialty at Alminco. Built in conjunction with Mullaly engineering, Alminco offers pre assembled FRP pump stations. Our largest composite project, at 4000 x 8500mm deep for Innes Estate in Townsville, incorporates a 1500 high dividing wall, 600 NB inlet and semi elliptical base engineered to resist the ground water forces found at 10m depths. Fabricated entirely of FRP, the filament wound barrel was made in one piece, and fit out in our fairy meadow workshop, and a square valve pit, also per assembled with 300mm NB gate and check valves . The station will make the long journey to Townsville by truck, then craned into position ready for service.
