Enhanced Alminco Spyder in Final Stages of Design
Alminco engineering team has had a recent request from our UK distributors to increase torque of the Alminco Spyder drill chuck. Always keen for a challenge and improving specific applications on our product suite, our engineering team commenced analysis of the theoretical output of the Spyder gearbox and motor with practical testing to follow.
Revisions as a result of testing and enhancement in design currently being finalised have resulted in a 25% increase in output torque at the chuck. In addition the team have streamlined and simplified parts relating to recent design changes aimed at increasing service life and lowering maintenance costs.
Alminco has an unprecedented focus in 2008 and beyond relating to improvements in design on the Alminco Quickduster, Alminco T-Rex temporary roof support system, Gopher and Gopher Fatboy and refinements and new adaptations of the Alminco Spyder & Alminco Scorpion. Our Engineering team are well positioned to deliver these improvements across Alminco Legends series and 2nd Generation product suites. Our team aim to extend value, performance, safety and service support across our entire product range.
Alminco Self Drilling Roof Bolt System – Leaps & Bounds
Recently Alminco has made several key findings from previous designs and underground trials have lead to a major enhancement on re-design of the drill chuck and injector components. Results have been incredibly positive with increased reliability and repeatability as well as improved service while decreasing the overall weight. Key to our advancement of this product has been a decreased footprint allowing a greater scope for adaptation in situ.
Our engineering team are looking forward to putting our enhanced SDRB system to the test on site for Xstrata in the coming months. Stay tuned for an update shortly.
Alminco Scorpion – Leading the way for Alminco 2nd Generation Excellence
Recent developments of the Scorpion have been numerous whereby the machine is increasingly reliable and serviceable. Key areas of the machine have been revised to reduce wear and increase intervals between servicing. Parts backup has also been an area of focus to ensure greater backup and decreased down-time. As well as this, FEA and simulation of the machine has been undertaken to ensure maximum life and safety for operators. We are as a team and company encouraged by the consistent performance and sales book generated by Alminco Scorpion.
